Miami 7 was the first of the S Club 7 television series which featured the band staying and working at a run down Miami hotel.

The series lasted for a total of Thirteen episodes, which were broadcast on CBBC (on BBC One) from the 8th of April 1999 – 1st of July 1999. The series was followed by L.A. 7.

The song used most frequently in this series was Bring It All Back, which was used for the opening theme as well as appearing inside episodes.

Plot

The show saw the group, desperate to make it big, offered a chance for success in Miami by their management. Instead, the band find themselves working in a hotel for Howard and Marvin Borlotti and entertaining the residents of the hotel. They learn to deal with the culture shock of being in a new country and eventually enjoy and somewhat become accustomed to what America has to offer.

It was also the 2nd time a manufactured band were made for their own TV series in the USA. The first were the American 1960s Rock Band The Monkees in 1966 with their self titled TV show "The Monkees".

Notes

  • The series took just over 3 months to film.
  • 15 songs were performed throughout the series.
  • Other residents were living at the hotel while the show was being filmed and some got walk-on roles.
  • The scenes of the show that took place in the hotel rooms of the Florida Paradise were actually filmed beforehand, back in London.
  • Most of the Miami scenes were shot in an area called Lauderdale by the Sea.
  • Clips from the show feature in S Club 7's video for "Bring It All Back" (the theme song for the series).
